Cleveland Golf

From downtown to its outer suburbs, Cleveland, Ohio has much to offer. The city is a dynamic mix of cultures, situated on Lake Erie. Having grown up here, these are a few of my favorite places to visit if you’re going to be in town. The best time to visit if you want to avoid very cold weather is late spring or early fall. You won’t be disappointed.

Public Square and Tower City In the heart of Cleveland is a beautiful old skyscraper called the Terminal Tower. Built in the late 1920’s, its lower interior was remodeled in the 80’s to have a large, fully enclosed mall called Tower City. It is impressive, to say the least, with its fountains, marble

floors and elegant, multi-leveled structure. It’s where Clevelanders meet to eat, shop and go to ball games. Nearby are the sports stadiums for baseball, basketball and football. This is a city who loves their sports. In the basement of Tower City, you can catch the subway, called the Rapid Transit or RTA, to the east or west side. The Rapid is fast, and convenient. Many businesspeople use it everyday to get to work. It also goes out to the airport. Tower City is a hub of most activity for Clevelanders.

The foundation of basketball in our country is developed and nurtured at the youth basketball level. The quality of commitment and coaching at this level can greatly alter the overall health of basketball in the United States.

Those who coach youth have an incredible opportunity to mold young people as students, players, and young men. Character and values, along with a sense of teamwork, listening, and hard work are the makings of a solid philosophy for youth coaches. Too often, though, this important job is taken haphazardly and followed though with little effort and commitment. The result is a group of young men that are not inspired about the game of basketball and carry with them apathy and poor skill development.

So you’re thinking of creating a new slogan and brand identity for your city

Join the club. The entire country is caught up in a frenzy of sloganeering. More than 80 percent of towns with populations greater than 25,000 either have a motto or are attempting to develop a new one.

The surge in branding can be attributed, in large part, to our friends in Las Vegas, whose daring motto, What Happens Here, Stays Here, hit the national airwaves in 2001 and shows no signs of abating. Of course, it helps if you re blessed with a towering budget, an endless supply of neon lights, and hordes of tourists who are admitted adrenaline junkies.

In fact, last year, only some 13 percent of all American home sales were by FSBOs. That figure is actually down somewhat from the nationwide peak, which occurred in 1987, when some
